Khaberni - Instagram announced the launch of a new feature that allows users to edit their comments after publishing, in a long-awaited step to enhance the interaction experience within the app.
According to the company, users can edit their comment within a timeframe of up to 15 minutes from the time of publication, after which no changes can be made.
Specific restrictions on editing
The new feature does not allow editing of all comment elements; editing is limited to text only. For example, if a comment includes an image alongside text, users will only be able to edit the accompanying text, according to a report published on "gsmarena" which was reviewed by "Arabiya Business".
Flexibility within the timeframe
Despite this time restriction, Instagram gives users the freedom to edit the comment an unlimited number of times within the first 15 minutes, providing an opportunity to correct errors or improve wording before finalizing the version.
Transparency in edits
On the other hand, the platform will display an "Edited" tag on the comments that have been modified, to inform users of the changes, without providing access to view the edit history or previous versions of the comment.
This step is part of Instagram's ongoing efforts to develop interaction tools and meet the users' needs in improving content quality and communication within the platform.
