Real Madrid Ends Its Relationship with the Spanish Football Federation

Khaberni -  Media reports have confirmed that tensions between Real Madrid and the Spanish Football Federation have escalated to an unprecedented level, following the royal club's decision to cut its institutional ties with the federation, in a move reflecting a loss of confidence in the integrity of local competitions.

The website elespanolcom mentioned that this development comes amid increasing controversy over refereeing decisions, which the club believes have directly impacted the course of the league championship and deprived it of the required fairness.

It added: "The board of Real Madrid withdrew from a project that aimed to establish a new refereeing system within Spanish football, despite its participation in earlier stages of the discussions".

It continued: "The name of José Ángel Sánchez, who attended some meetings in his capacity as general director and board member, stood out before he informed the federation president at a critical moment of the club's intention not to proceed with the final agreement signing, clearly indicating the deepening rift between the two sides".

It went on: "The disagreement is no longer confined to closed meetings, but has extended to the forefront during the team's recent match against Bayern Munich, where Rafael Lozan attended the event in his official capacity alongside UEFA President Alexander Ceferin. However, the scene inside the VIP box at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium reflected a clear coldness in the relationship, as Lozan did not sit next to Ceferin and merely watched the game from the third row, symbolizing the depth of the rift between the two sides".

It proceeded: "Real Madrid's suspicions about the refereeing system were reinforced after several controversial instances, most notably in the match against Girona, where two similar incidents involving star Kylian Mbappé saw different decisions from the refereeing team, despite the intervention of video technology".

It added: "The club believes that these discrepancies, along with the reactions of referee Alberola Rojas when receiving signals from the review room, reflect a fundamental flaw in the decision-making mechanism, and even open the door to allegations of intent".

It concluded: "Despite Real Madrid's management confirming that these factors are not the sole reason for losing the league title, they consider them the most significant factor in violating the principle of equal opportunities. With the escalation continuing, the relationship between the club and the federation is likely to deteriorate further unless radical reforms are introduced to the refereeing system that would restore confidence to local competitions".
