Khaberni - Minister Khaled Al-Bakkar is engaged in last-minute negotiations in the Parliament in an attempt to minimize the extent of the amendments to the amended and anticipated social security law to be voted on by the labor committee next week.
Sources told Khaberni that Al-Bakkar, who chairs the social security board, attended the committee meeting on Thursday and tried to convince the MPs of the government's viewpoint alongside other government officials from Khaberni.
The parliamentary labor committee has not reached agreements that would lead to the approval of the remaining articles of the bill Khaberni, which was stalled at articles 62, 63, and 64, concerning retirement age, deduction percentage, and the calculation formula, which are the most significant articles.
A parliamentary source told Khaberni that the failure to approve these articles was due to the representative Hassan Al-Riyati's request to make the voting results in the committee public, announcing the names of the approving and rejecting MPs.
