Trump to Iran This is disgraceful This is not our agreement

Khaberni  -  American President Donald Trump criticized Tehran, asserting that it is "doing a very bad and disgraceful job" regarding the allowance of oil passage through the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump wrote on "Truth Social": "Iran is doing terribly, one might even call it a disgraceful job in terms of allowing oil passage through the Strait of Hormuz, this is not what we agreed on".

Trump’s statement comes after the Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Sayyid Mujtaba Khamenei announced that the management of the Strait of Hormuz "will definitely enter a new phase", threatening that Tehran will demand compensation for all damages related to the war and will not leave "the criminal aggressors unpunished".

Trump had written in a previous post on the same platform: "There are reports that Iran is imposing fees on tankers passing through the Strait of Hormuz – they better not be doing that, and if they are, they need to stop now!"

Since the war began on February 28, 2026, the Strait of Hormuz has experienced the worst disruption in global energy supplies in history, typically handling about one-fifth of the world's oil and liquefied natural gas. Before the ceasefire, navigation movement was down by 90% from normal rates, and remains largely unchanged despite the ceasefire being in effect.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced alternative routes near the Iranian island of Kharg, requiring coordination with the Iranian Navy for ship passage. Major shipping companies like Maersk continue to adopt a cautious approach, indicating that "the situation has not yet provided full maritime certainty".

A round of negotiations between Washington and Tehran is scheduled to be hosted in Islamabad on Friday, April 10, where it is expected that the American Vice President JD Vance will attend the talks with the Iranian side.
