Khaberni - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Thursday evening that he has instructed the start of direct negotiations with Lebanon.
Netanyahu stated in a declaration that, "In light of repeated approaches from Lebanon to open direct negotiations with Israel, I have instructed the cabinet to begin direct negotiations with Lebanon as soon as possible."
He clarified that the negotiations will focus on the disarmament of Hezbollah and establishing peace relations between Israel and Lebanon, adding that Israel "appreciates the invitation of the Prime Minister of Lebanon to disarm in Beirut."
