Minister of Health Enhancing the Role of Health Centers to Reduce Pressure on Hospitals

Khaberni  - Health Minister, Ibrahim Al-Bdour, confirmed that the ministry is continuing to activate and enhance the role of health centers, within its approach to alleviate the pressure on emergency departments in government hospitals, by adopting a strategy that emphasizes the status of health centers as the primary gateway for receiving service, which contributes to improving the efficiency of the health system and expediting the provision of care to citizens.

This was stated during a tour by the minister on Thursday, during which he visited 4 comprehensive health centers in Zarqa and Russeifa: Al-Rasheed neighborhood, Wadi Al-Hajar, Zarqa, and Al-Msherfeh, where he reviewed the workflow and listened to briefings from medical and administrative staff about the level of services provided, and the main challenges facing their work.

Al-Bdour emphasized the ministry's commitment to developing the work environment and enhancing performance efficiency in these centers, which directly reflects on the quality of the health services provided, pointing out that the modernization plans in the health sector are implemented according to a clear vision aimed at translating government directives into reality, and enhancing the effectiveness of field monitoring in performance evaluation and prioritization.

During the tour, Al-Bdour met with a number of reviewers and listened to their feedback, stressing the importance of feedback in improving service level, and directed immediate handling of complaints and the enhancement of health care quality.

In a related context, he explained that the ministry started at the beginning of this month activating 5 comprehensive health centers near the Al-Bashir hospital, to receive simple medical cases instead of the emergency departments in the hospital, noting that this step has given very promising initial results in reducing congestion in emergency departments.
