Arrest of 375 People in Abu Dhabi on Charges of Filming Locations and Circulating and Publishing Misleading Information

The Abu Dhabi Police announced the arrest of 375 people of various nationalities on charges of photographing various sites and distributing and publishing misleading information via social media platforms related to current events, and referred them to the Public Prosecution for legal action in accordance with prevailing legislation.

The police confirmed their commitment to enhancing security and safety in cooperation with the concerned parties at the emirate level, emphasizing that such practices are explicitly in violation of the laws and regulations in force in the country, which aim to protect the community and preserve its security and stability.

Spreading Panic and Stirring Public Opinion

The Abu Dhabi Police confirmed that despite warnings and notices issued in this regard, it was observed that some individuals continued to violate instructions. Accordingly, the competent authorities will not be lenient in taking deterrent legal actions against anyone proven to be involved in spreading panic and stirring public opinion, which is a crime punishable by law.

The police called on the public to ensure accuracy and credibility when circulating information and to rely on official authorized sources, not to follow rumors or redistribute unreliable news. They emphasized the importance of community partnership in enhancing public security, noting that the awareness and adherence of community members to laws significantly contribute to protecting lives and properties and establishing a safe and stable environment for all community members.
