Khaberni - Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid attacked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, accusing him of causing an unprecedented political disaster in Israeli history.
Lapid stated that Israel was not even present when decisions related to the core of its national security were made, while at the same time praising the performance of the military, "which executed everything asked of it, and the unparalleled resilience of the Israeli people".
He added that Netanyahu failed to achieve any of the goals he set for himself, holding him responsible for the political and strategic damages which he described as requiring many years to repair, accusing him of arrogance, negligence and a lack of strategic planning.
Iran announced early Wednesday that the United States had "in principle" accepted an Iranian proposal of 10 points to end the war, just hours before the deadline set by President Donald Trump to bomb Iranian infrastructure.
The agreement came after more than five weeks of open war between Washington and Tel Aviv on one hand and Iran on the other, which began on February 28, 2026, resulting in thousands of deaths and the destruction of vital infrastructure and the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and top military leaders.
The Iranian proposal included 10 points, notably: non-aggression towards Iran, continued control of the Strait of Hormuz, lifting of sanctions, payment of war reparations, and cessation of hostilities on all fronts including Lebanon.
However, Netanyahu's office denied that the temporary ceasefire would include Lebanon, despite statements from senior security officials and Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
Detailed negotiations are scheduled to begin on Friday in Islamabad under Pakistani sponsorship.
