Khaberni - The president of Petra University, Professor Dr. Rami Abdel Rahim, proposed a comprehensive technological vision to enhance student integration into the e-learning system during a seminar organized by the Petra University Club as part of the "Petra Cultural Salon" event, which discussed mechanisms to advance the educational and research processes.
Abdel Rahim stated that the success of digital education relies on achieving "comprehensive integration", which balances the behavioral, emotional, cognitive, and social dimensions of the learner, affirming the university’s commitment to providing an interactive academic environment that ensures educational outcomes comparable to face-to-face education and meets the aspirations of the digital generations.
Abdel Rahim explained that the university's vision was based on an analytical study of the results of six thousand students, comparing performance in face-to-face education in 2017 and e-learning in 2024, indicating that the study results formed a basis for developing new educational strategies that address gaps in digital interaction and improve academic achievement efficiency.
Abdel Rahim identified three fundamental factors for the advancement of remote learning, starting with the development of digital platforms to increase interactivity, and the employment of artificial intelligence as a smart educational assistant. He emphasized that the teacher remains the main driver of success through building a professional and emotional close relationship with their students, and quickly responding to their needs, which reduces feelings of social isolation.
Abdel Rahim mentioned the continuation of the university in supporting "innovative research" that connects science with the industrial sector, stating that the adopted instructions offer increased incentives for projects that turn into practical products that serve the community, such as smart systems for smoking cessation and pharmaceutical innovations emerging from the university's business incubator.
The seminar was led by the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Iyad Al-Mallah, president of the university club, with the attendance of a number of deans and members of both the academic and administrative bodies.
