US Secretary of Commerce to be Investigated in Epstein Case

Khaberni - CNN reported that U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick will appear next month to be questioned as part of the ongoing investigation into the connections of sex offender Jeffrey Epstein with prominent American figures across various fields.
According to the media source, the interview is part of the federal investigators' efforts to clarify the nature and network of relationships that linked Epstein, who was found dead in his cell in 2019 while awaiting trial on human trafficking charges, with several public figures and prominent businessmen in the United States.

It is noted that Lutnick, who serves as the Secretary of Commerce in President Donald Trump's administration, faced previous accusations of downplaying his relationship with Epstein or distorting its true scope, which led investigators to summon him to testify in an effort to uncover the full truths surrounding this controversial network.

So far, no official comment has been issued by the Office of the Secretary of Commerce or the U.S. Department of Justice regarding the specifics of the interview date or the scope of the expected questions, at a time when the investigations are surrounded by strict confidentiality due to their political and judicial sensitivity.

The Epstein case is one of the most controversial files of the last decade, involving prominent names in the worlds of politics, finance, and media, and raising questions about the extent to which influence and power affect the course of judicial investigations.
