Minister of Culture Inaugurates the Reema AlMaaytah Library in Sheehan Municipality

Khaberni  -  Minister of Culture Mustafa Al-Rawashdeh inaugurated the new library donated by the Ministry of Culture to Sheehan Municipality today, Monday, as part of the ministry's efforts to enhance the intellectual infrastructure and support the cultural movement across different regions of the kingdom.

This inauguration took place on the sidelines of the ceremony to announce "Al-Qasr" as a district for Jordanian culture for the year 2026, where the minister affirmed that this library represents a main tributary for the local community and a step towards enabling intellectuals and youth to access scientific and literary sources in an environment that encourages creativity.

In a gesture reflecting the values of loyalty and appreciation, the name of the late engineer Reema Al-Maaytah was given to the library based on a previous decision taken by Sheehan Municipal Council, in honor of her memory and professional career as one of the dedicated staff members of the municipality who passed away in her prime and her contribution, with this naming serving to immortalize her name in a cultural edifice serving future generations.

During his tour around the library, the minister emphasized the importance of activating such facilities to be hubs of intellectual and civilizational radiance, pointing out that choosing Al-Qasr as a district for culture carries deep implications that require collective efforts to highlight the rich cultural and social heritage of the area, amid notable attendance from official activities, the community, and the family of the deceased.
