Khaberni - Dr. Leonid Bukhanov, a specialist in urology, reported that some diseases may lead to erectile dysfunction, clarifying the health situations that could cause these symptoms.
Dr. Leonid Bukhanov explains: "Erection depends on several systems at once; blood vessels must expand quickly to maintain blood flow, nerves must transmit signals, and hormone levels must sustain libido and tissue response. This mechanism is sensitive, so if any of these systems fail, problems in sexual ability may arise."
He added that erectile dysfunction could occur with high blood pressure and arteriosclerosis, where it can be one of the first symptoms. It may also result from high blood sugar and diabetic neuropathy, which causes damage to the nerve fibers.
Furthermore, spinal injuries, pelvic surgeries, and severe hernias accompanied by radical symptoms can negatively affect erectile function. Depression, sleep problems, and chronic stress may also cause issues in sexual ability."
