Britain No truth to destroyer being damaged by fire from Lebanon

Khaberni - The British Ministry of Defense denied reports that a British warship was damaged due to shelling from Lebanon in the Eastern Mediterranean, stating that what was circulated by the media and social media platforms is baseless.

A source in the ministry, in a statement to the British news agency "PA", denied the claims that the destroyer HMS Dragon was attacked, or that Hezbollah fighters accidentally fired at it thinking it was an Israeli ship. Channel 14 Israel, along with other sources, had relayed these allegations, based on Israeli assessments that talked about a missile hitting the ship and causing damage, but London quickly and decisively denied these stories.

Destroyer Type 45
HMS Dragon is a Type 45 destroyer belonging to the Royal Navy, and it has been deployed in the Eastern Mediterranean as part of a mission aimed at protecting British air bases in Cyprus.

The source explained that the ship is part of a group of British military assets deployed in the region, which are tasked with defending British bases and allied countries, especially against drones manufactured in Iran and other threats.

Rumors had spread on social media, on Sunday afternoon, claiming that a British ship was attacked by an armed Lebanese group, with claims of mistaken identification, but British official entities categorically denied these reports.
