Violent Intervention on a Referee in the Turkish League Sparks Controversy

Khaberni  - The match between Bursaspor and Mardin 1969 in round 31 of the Turkish second division witnessed an incident that caused a wide wave of controversy across social media platforms.

During one of the moments of the match, Esra Eripekoglu found herself between two players who tried to chase a ball that had gone out for a throw-in, intervening with excessive force, causing her to lose her balance and fall to the ground after they slid.

The lack of intervention by players from both teams to assist the assistant referee during the incident provoked angry responses in the sports community.

According to reports, Esra Eripekoglu did not suffer any injuries despite the hard fall.

The criticisms centered on the player Mohammed Manish who continued to move and play instead of stopping to check on the safety of the assistant referee after her fall, which observers considered a lack of sportsmanship required in such situations.

Bursaspor secured an important victory over Mardin with a score of 2-0 in the match held at Ataturk Sports Complex "Matly" where Ertugrul Idris Furat scored both goals for the team in the 52nd and Baran Basiigit in the 88th minute.

With this victory, Bursaspor raised their points to 71, leading their group, while Mardin’s points froze at 64 in the third position.
