The Income and Sales Tax Department announced that the current April 30 is the final legal deadline for filing income tax returns for the fiscal year 2025, and for paying the tax declared in the return.
The department emphasized the importance of filling the returns with accurate and correct financial data that reflects the true income of the taxpayers for the fiscal year 2025, urging those who have not yet submitted their returns to take advantage of the remaining legal period to avoid penalties stipulated.
It explained that the penalties include imposing an amount ranging between 100 and 500 dinars if the return is not submitted, in addition to a late payment fine of 4 per thousand weekly on the due tax amount or any part of it.
The department clarified that employees and workers whose annual income exceeds 9,000 dinars for singles or non-providers and 18,000 dinars for providers, are obligated to submit their tax returns, pointing out that monthly deductions from salaries and wages do not exempt from this obligation if the income exceeds the exemption limits.
It also called on retirees whose monthly pension exceeds 2,500 dinars to file their returns for the year 2025.
The department urged taxpayers not to delay filing returns until the last days of the month, as this may cause congestion or delay, confirming that submission and payment are done electronically.
It referred to the possibility of taxpayers contacting the Taxpayer Services Center via phone or the "WhatsApp" application at the number 062222130, or through social media platforms, to receive support, answer inquiries, and follow up on procedures easily.
