Due to Immense Pressure Anthropik Ends Support for OpenClaw with Cloud Subscriptions

Khaberni - Anthropik will discontinue support for the famous artificial intelligence platform "OpenClaw" within "Cloud" subscriptions, while the company is working hard to meet the increasing demand for its chatbot.

Boris Cherny, President of "Cloud Code" at "Anthropik", stated in a post on the "X" platform on Friday evening that Cloud subscriptions will cease to support third-party tools such as "OpenClaw" starting from 12:00 PM Pacific Time on Saturday.

Cherny added that users will instead have to pay through "reduced additional use packages" linked to their Cloud accounts, or use Claude API key through the Anthropik developer platform, according to a report viewed by "Al Arabiya Business" on "Business Insider".

What is the reason for the decision?
The executive at "Anthropik" pointed out that this decision was driven by the increasing demand for computing resources observed by the company from the users.

The chatbot "Claude" has seen a significant rise in popularity during the recent weeks, briefly topping the App Store in the United States in March.

Anthropik was forced in recent days to adjust the usage limits of "Claude" for subscribers due to the growing demand.

A spokesperson for "Anthropik", in a statement to Business Insider, said that using Cloud subscriptions with external tools violates the company's service terms, and that these tools impose "unusually high pressure on our systems".

Peter Steinberger, creator of "OpenClaw", posted on the X platform that he and Dave Morin, a member of the board of directors of the "OpenClaw" foundation, tried to persuade "Anthropik" to reconsider their decision, and they delayed its implementation for a week.

Steinberger added, in a text message to Business Insider: "We informed Anthropik that we have many users who subscribed to their subscriptions just because of OpenClaw, and cutting off service to them would be a loss".

"OpenClaw" is a fast-growing artificial intelligence agent platform that connects to platforms like "Cloud", enabling users to deploy personal assistants that use artificial intelligence. These assistants can perform tasks on other applications and in various workflows.

"OpenClaw" popularity has sparked a craze for artificial intelligence agents, as some users have deployed assistants to manage their entire daily business workflow. One of the founders stated that she created nine artificial intelligence agents to handle administrative tasks and personal home services.
