Khaberni - The Ulyanovsk region witnessed a worrying incident after some of the train cars veered off their track, resulting in several injuries but no fatalities, as announced by local authorities.
The accident occurred approximately 900 kilometers east of Moscow, during a train journey from Chelyabinsk to the capital, when 7 cars suddenly derailed, causing panic among the passengers.
The governor of Ulyanovsk, Alexei Russkikh, explained that the incident resulted in injuries among the passengers, while circulated footage showed some of the cars overturned beside the railway track, reflecting the severity of the accident.
Meanwhile, the governor of Chelyabinsk, Alexei Texler, confirmed that the number of injured reached 22 people, including two cases with fractures, along with various other injuries ranging from bruises to cuts, including a child who was injured in the leg.
The causes of the accident are still unclear at this time, while specialized authorities have started their investigations to uncover the circumstances, especially since the train was carrying about 412 passengers at the time of the accident.
Rescue and emergency teams continue their efforts at the accident site, with the injured being transferred to hospitals, amid intensive official follow-up to ensure the safety of passengers and prevent such incidents in the future.
