Khaberni - US President Donald Trump said on Saturday (our local time) that he is not yet ready to announce what America would do if the missing fighter pilot is harmed.
Trump made this statement to the British newspaper The Independent, shortly after a phone call to what seemed like "NBC" where he stated that the downing of warplanes by Iran would not affect potential negotiations with the Tehran government.
In his talk to the American network, Trump referred to the search and rescue efforts for crews of American aircraft downed by Iran, without going into details.
He described the attacks on Iran as "a precise and complex military operation," expressing his disappointment with how some local media handled the event.
Trump reaffirmed that the downing of warplanes by Iran would not affect potential negotiations with Tehran, saying, “No, it won’t affect it at all, no, this is war, we are in a war.”
On Thursday evening, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced targeting an "enemy aircraft" south of Qeshm Island near the Strait of Hormuz, causing it to crash into the waters of the Gulf.
The US military, later on, acknowledged the downing of an F-15 fighter jet in Iran, according to the Associated Press.
The agency reported from US officials that one pilot was found and rescued, while the search continues for the second pilot.
On Friday evening, the White House announced that the President was briefed on the details of the downing of an American fighter aircraft in Iran.
On Friday morning, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced that it had downed a second American warplane in the center of the country using air defense systems.
Since February 28, Israel and the United States have been conducting a military aggression against Iran that has resulted in thousands of deaths and injuries, while Tehran responds by launching rockets and drones towards Israel.
Iran also targets what it says are "American interests" in Arab countries, resulting in deaths, injuries, and damage to civilian property, which the targeted countries have condemned.
