Industry issues 403 violations during March

 The Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply issued 403 violations against facilities for failing to comply with the provisions of the industry and trade law and related legislation during the past month of March, primarily including 345 violations of failing to display prices of goods.
The ministry stated in a statement today, Thursday, that the Market Monitoring Directorate dealt with various complaints received from citizens, totaling 150 complaints, through market inspectors spread in all regions of the kingdom, and took necessary actions to address them, reflecting the speed of response and the effectiveness of supervision.
It added that the supervisory teams conducted 503 inspection rounds covering 8421 visits to commercial establishments in various provinces of the kingdom, to ensure their compliance with the regulations and systems in force.
It mentioned that the Market Monitoring Directorate continues to implement the provisions of the Industry and Trade Law No. 18 of 1998, which includes monitoring the availability and prices of basic food commodities, verifying price announcements and compliance with them, monitoring the stock at wholesale traders, in addition to controlling any practices related to hiding goods or refraining from selling them, and monitoring discounts, liquidations, and promotional offers.
