Yarmouk University decides to ban the use of air conditioning and heating in all its facilities

Khaberni - Yarmouk University has announced a set of measures aimed at rationalizing consumption and controlling expenditure, in line with the decree issued by Prime Minister Jafar Hassan, calling for enhancing spending efficiency across various government institutions, official departments, and public bodies, amid the current circumstances.

The university confirmed that these measures are part of its commitment to government directives, its keenness on implementing the Prime Minister’s decisions which achieve optimal use of financial resources, and enhance its efficiency, and raise the level of institutional performance.

Yarmouk University emphasized the necessity for all its faculties, scientific centers, and administrative departments to adhere to the following spending control measures:

First: Control the use of official vehicles
These measures include regulating the use of government vehicles so that they are limited to official purposes only, prohibiting their use outside official working hours, not allowing overnight parking except at designated sites, and canceling any previous exceptions in this regard.

Second: Stop travel and hospitality for two months
The university decided to stop the travel of delegations and official committees abroad for two months, except for necessary cases that require prior official approvals, along with stopping the hosting of official delegations and reducing expenses on hospitality and banquets during the same period.

Third: Rationalize energy consumption
Regarding operational expenses, the university emphasized prohibiting the use of air conditioning units and heating devices in various administrative facilities, as part of its efforts to reduce energy consumption and lower operational costs.

Yarmouk University renewed its commitment to continuing to apply policies of spending rationalization and control, in accordance with the relevant Council of Ministers’ decisions, to achieve optimal use of available resources and serve the public interest.
