Khaberni - Former Prime Minister and Vice President of the Senate, Samir Al-Rifai, stated that protecting the West Bank from any attempts of displacement, emptying, or destruction must be a top priority for Jordan, due to its direct connection with Jordanian national security.
Al-Rifai said that any tampering with the West Bank should not be considered merely a distant Palestinian affair, but a matter that directly affects the stability and security of Jordan, especially in the context of the serious transformations occurring in the region.
He indicated that there is an Israeli project aiming to impose new realities on the ground by altering political and demographic equations, which threatens the chances of a settlement and weakens the possibility of establishing a Palestinian state.
He emphasized the need to deal with these challenges with awareness and responsibility, affirming that Jordan is committed to protecting its national interests, defending its stability, and rejecting any attempts to turn it into an arena for resolving regional conflicts.
