Triviality Rush to Store Goods
الكاتب: عوض ضيف الله الملاحمة

Khaberni - Some people's behaviors stem from ignorance, lack of awareness, selfishness, an inherent feeling of fear, cowardice, a reflection of internal anxiety, psychological instability, and random frantic behavior.

I have observed in recent weeks an unjustifiable strange behavior by some people, which consists of rushing to store all kinds of goods in almost commercial quantities unrelated to family consumption. To the extent that it has been shown on some screens and social media that some goods shelves in some major commercial establishments are empty of goods despite being replenished several times a day. You might also see a family man having filled a number of shopping carts, which might reach up to seven carts or more.

I believe that those who rush to buy and store goods are definitely suffering from anxiety, fear, and psychological instability, undoubtedly.

The government keeps the citizens informed about the stock of all kinds of goods, whether food items, household goods, all kinds of grains like wheat, rice, and even barley for animal feed, and continuously updates us on medical stocks, treatments and medical supplies, and up to the stock of oil derivatives, and more.

To remind those who rush to buy and store goods, and everything from human necessities, I will mention the following, which are official government statistics that cannot be doubted:—
1) The strategic stock of wheat in Jordan currently in March 2026, is at safe levels, enough to meet local consumption for a period of (5–6) months, which are quantities located inside the grain silos in Jordan. It rises to (10) months when calculating the amounts contracted for, and present at sea. For your information, (90%) of our wheat import currently comes from Romania, yes Romania — and where is Romania from the war zone? And the shipment and ship routes are far from the war zone — while the remaining (10%) comes from other countries such as: Australia, France, and Germany, meaning that imports from Australia might be affected by the war, but the government will compensate for that from other countries.
2) As for the barley stock currently in the national warehouses, it suffices our sheep and animals for (9) months.
3) The Jordanian strategic stock of medications suffices the Kingdom's needs for a period ranging between (6 — 12) months. This stock covers essential, vital medications, in addition to ((the primary raw materials needed to manufacture medications)), ensuring high health stability and ongoing supply chains without interruption. I hope you review and contemplate deeply the above text: ((primary raw materials for manufacturing medications)) are available in Jordan — thanks be to God — (34) pharmaceutical factories, and their raw materials are available. These factories have (90) production lines, and produce (8977) locally-manufactured pharmaceutical items, covering (52%) of market needs, and export to (78) external markets.
4) The stock of oil products, as confirmed by the Jordanian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and the Syndicate of Fuel Station Owners, is safe and stable, and suffices for (70) days. Recently, (8) oil tankers and (5) liquefied gas tankers have arrived at the port of Aqaba, and there are no cancellations or delays in the arrival of tankers.
5) Rice stock is safe and reassuring, sufficient for the domestic market's needs for (4) months, as of the end of March 2026, and the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Supplies assures that supply chains are stable, and there is no need to rush for purchasing, with large quantities of various types of rice available in warehouses and markets.

The above illustrates the stock of wheat, barley, rice, medications, and oil products, exclusively, as these are imported goods and materials, and the figures show that their stocks are safe and supply chains are stable.

From another angle, which is the angle that caused the rush, namely the war of the US and the entity against Iran, most military, political, and strategic analysts believe that the war will end within two weeks. They base this on several reasons, undisclosed here.

The rush to buy and store goods does not align, it rather conflicts with the government's strategy in this area, greatly disrupting the government's precise calculations and clear figures related to strategic stock. It also causes significant and dangerous disruptions to supply chains. It disrupts family budgets and spending mechanisms, especially for low-income families. Eventually, when the war ends, the fate of most of the stored goods ends up in garbage containers, with all regrets, and pain.

The rush is a naive, trivial behavior that does not reflect awareness, but confirms ignorance, fear, cowardice, and a sense of internal instability. The triviality of the rush is blatantly clear, I wish people would not embody this detestable trait.

Rushing to buy and store goods is naive, trivial, unwise, and unpatriotic behavior, yes unpatriotic.
