First Medical Evacuation in Space History Astronaut Loses Speech

Khaberni - NASA witnessed an unprecedented development after conducting the first medical evacuation in its history, following an astronaut experiencing a mysterious health condition aboard the International Space Station.

American astronaut Mike Fincke revealed details of the incident, explaining that he suddenly lost the ability to speak while eating on January 7, after preparing for a spacewalk, describing the event as quick and sudden.

The condition lasted about 20 minutes, without any accompanying pain or breathing difficulty, before Fincke regained his ability to speak normally. His colleagues quickly intervened, and immediate communication with the medical teams on the ground was established to take necessary action.

Despite a series of tests, no clear cause for the condition was identified, with a heart attack being ruled out. Some specialists suggest that the condition may be related to the effects of zero gravity, especially since Fincke has extensive experience in space, exceeding 500 days.

The incident prompted NASA to make an exceptional decision to end the "Crew-11" mission early, as the team returned to Earth almost a month ahead of schedule, in an unprecedented precautionary step.

In addition to Fincke, the crew included Zena Cardman, Kimiya Yui, and Oleg Platonov.

The incident led to the cancellation of a planned spacewalk and had a direct impact on the entire travel schedule. Fincke expressed his responsibility for what happened, before receiving support from his colleagues who confirmed that the event was beyond his control.

Currently, NASA continues to review medical data for other astronauts, to ensure there are no similar cases, especially since such emergencies are extremely rare and have never been recorded in this form before.

After returning to Earth, the crew underwent thorough examinations, where Fincke confirmed that he is in good health, expressing his desire to return to space again, despite this extraordinary experience.
