Google Officially Launches the Search Live Feature with Voice and Camera Globally

Khaberni  - Google has officially announced the global launch of the "Search Live" feature, a technology that integrates computer vision and real-time voice processing to change the way users interact with the search engine.

According to the company's statement published on its official tech blog, The Keyword, this step is part of Google's strategy to mainstream generative artificial intelligence in everyday life.

A tech report published by The Verge states that the new feature fully relies on the Gemini 3.1 Flash Live model, Google's latest release designed to reduce response times to unprecedented levels. This technology allows the user to open the phone camera, point it at any object or scene, and then ask complex voice questions about what they see in real time.

According to a review conducted by experts from Tech Radar, this feature lets a user point the camera at a faulty car engine and ask the assistant: "What is this part, and how can I check if it needs replacing?", and the system will analyze the image and provide an immediate voice response supported by practical steps and links to technical sources.

Main Technical Features

- Continuous conversation: The feature allows "dialogue interruption", where the user can interrupt the assistant during an explanation to add new details without needing to reformulate the question from scratch.

- Broad linguistic support: Google has confirmed that the feature supports 98 languages, including Arabic with its various dialects, and is now available in more than 200 countries.

- Integration with "Google Lens": The new feature merges the visual recognition capabilities of "Lens" with the dialogue capabilities of Gemini, eliminating the boundary between image search and text search.

Availability and Privacy

According to informed sources, the feature has begun to gradually appear for users of the Google app on Android and iOS systems. A new "Live" button next to the traditional microphone icon is now appearing in the search bar.

Reports indicate that Google has enhanced power consumption for this feature, allowing longer use of the camera and cloud processing without significant battery drain, a technical challenge faced by previous beta versions.

Regarding privacy, a Google spokesperson stated to Reuters that "Search Live" is designed with strict user privacy protocols in mind, where live streaming of camera or audio is only stored with the user's explicit consent to improve the model, with easy options to clear the live search history immediately after the session ends.

The launch of this feature comes at a time when competition is heating up between Google and its compatriots, OpenAI, the developer of ChatGPT, and Apple, as each seeks to dominate the personal assistant market based on vision and sound.
