Theft of 12 tons of Kit Kat

Khaberni  - Nestlé announced the theft of a huge shipment of Kit Kat chocolate in Europe, estimated at about 12 tons, which could lead to a shortage in the market ahead of Easter.

The company explained, in a statement conveyed by Agence France-Presse, that a truck transporting 413,793 pieces from a new collection of chocolate bars disappeared during its journey between production and distribution sites.

The truck departed from central Italy and was en route to Poland, with plans to distribute the shipment across several European countries, but it never reached its final destination.

The company did not specify the exact location of the disappearance of the truck, but confirmed that "the vehicle and its cargo are still missing," indicating that investigations are ongoing in cooperation with local authorities and supply chain partners, and suggesting the possibility that the stolen products could leak into unofficial sales channels in the European markets.

It warned that this theft could affect the availability of its products in stores, especially with the approaching Easter season, which sees an increase in demand for chocolate.

The company clarified that the stolen shipment can be tracked through the examination of unique batch codes found on each piece.

It added that if a match is discovered, the device performing the scan will receive clear instructions on how to notify "Kit Kat," and the company will then handle the evidence and refer it to the relevant authorities.
