Khaberni - The Israeli army announced this Sunday morning the death of one of its soldiers in the ongoing battles in southern Lebanon.
The Israeli army said that during an incident in southern Lebanon, a soldier was killed and 3 others were moderately injured.
A statement from the army stated that a 22-year-old soldier from New Haven, Connecticut, USA, "fell during combat in southern Lebanon" on Saturday, noting that he was part of the 890th Battalion in the Paratroopers Brigade.
It was mentioned that the soldiers were evacuated for medical treatment in the hospital, and their families were notified.
The deceased soldier is the fifth since the resumption of the war with Hezbollah on March 2.
The Israeli army announced on Saturday that a number of officers and soldiers were injured in southern Lebanon in two separate incidents, according to their statement.
The Israeli army stated, "Yesterday, Friday, an army officer was seriously injured, and another officer sustained moderate injuries, as a result of an anti-tank missile fired during an engagement in southern Lebanon."
It added, "During the night and in another incident, an officer was seriously injured, and 6 soldiers sustained moderate injuries, due to rockets being fired towards army forces operating in southern Lebanon."
