Khaberni - The Aqaba Ports Management and Operation Company received a request to host a ship loaded with 80,000 tons of transit sugar, headed to Iraq, due to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. The ship is expected to arrive at Aqaba Port at dawn on Friday, March 27.
In a related context, the port expects to receive new requests regarding the import of grains (corn and soybeans) following visits by several traders to the port.
Recently, the port also received a ship loaded with 12,000 tons of vegetable oils, and the unloading operations have been completed during the past period due to the same closure in the Strait of Hormuz.
