Jordanian Agriculture Suspends Export of Tomatoes and Cucumbers

Khaberni  – The Ministry of Agriculture has decided to suspend the export of tomatoes and cucumbers to all destinations, as part of its measures aimed at controlling the local market and maintaining price stability.

According to an official document issued by the ministry and directed to the Jordanian Customs Department, the suspension decision is based on monitoring the market conditions from 10/3/2026 to 20/3/2026, which saw an increase in the prices of these products.

The ministry explained that the decision aims to provide the product in the local market at fair prices, and to curb the recent increases, thereby achieving a balance between supply and demand and protecting the consumer.

It clarified that the export suspension will be effective from 27/3/2026, confirming the continuation of monitoring market developments and taking the necessary measures in the public interest.

The Ministry of Agriculture affirmed its commitment to supporting the stability of the local market, and ensuring the availability of essential agricultural products for citizens in sufficient quantities and at reasonable prices.
