Egypt Judicial ruling to imprison the brother of the artist Sherine Abdel Wahab

Khaberni - An Egyptian court issued a ruling to imprison the brother of the artist Sherine Abdel Wahab for six months with financial bail, due to accusations of assault.

An Egyptian court, on Tuesday, March 24, sentenced Mohamed Abdel Wahab, the brother of the artist Sherine Abdel Wahab, to six months in prison, requiring him to pay a bail of 2000 Egyptian pounds, following accusations of assaulting his sister and destroying property in her house in the Mokattam area in Egypt, an incident that had garnered public and media interest in both the artistic and legal affairs.

The verdict in case number 1548 of 2026, Mokattam Criminal Court, came after the court confirmed the validity of the accusations against him, which included physical assault on Sherine Abdel Wahab and causing damage to her home possessions, a clear violation of the law and an infringement of individual rights within their homes.

The investigative bodies had started their procedures immediately upon receiving the complaint from the artist, where evidence was secured, witnesses' testimonies were heard, and necessary site inspections were conducted, before referring the case to the court that issued the aforementioned ruling, affirming the application of the law against any assault on individuals or their properties, even within the context of familial relationships.

It is worth mentioning that the artist Sherine Abdel Wahab appeared during the Eid al-Fitr festival with her daughter in a video clip posted by the latter on her TikTok account.
