Khaberni- Romelu Lukaku, the Italian Napoli striker, withdrew from the Belgium team's squad during their two friendly matches in America, in order to focus on regaining his physical fitness better.
Lukaku has been absent from the pitch for several months due to a thigh injury, and his appearances with Napoli have decreased. Now he prefers to use the international break to improve his physical fitness level, according to the Belgian Football Association, on Tuesday.
Also withdrawn from the Belgium squad were Hans Vanaken, a midfielder of Club Brugge, and Leandro Trossard, a winger for Arsenal, due to injuries.
The Belgium team will meet its American counterpart next Saturday, in Atlanta, and three days later they will face Mexico in Chicago, in preparation for the World Cup that kicks off in June.
