Khaberni - Jordanian energy expert Hashem Aql said that expectations indicate an impending positive government decision regarding fuel prices, amid significant global increases recently witnessed in the markets.
Aql explained in a post on his personal Facebook page that the oil derivatives pricing committee will not apply the full actual global increase, pointing out that the government will bear the majority of these increases to alleviate the burden on citizens.
He clarified that the actual global increase reached about 60% for diesel and kerosene, and about 30% for gasoline of both types, reflecting the extent of the pressures that local markets are facing, confirming that the government's intervention aims to limit the direct impact of these increases on the consumer.
