Khaberni - England has announced the release of its new shirt for the 2026 World Cup, becoming the most expensive in the team's history, which will force fans to pay record amounts to obtain the shirt.
The British Daily Mail reported that the price of the "match" adult shirt has risen to 134.99 pounds sterling, an increase of eight percent over the previous shirt for the European Nations Championship 2024, which was priced at 124.99 pounds, while the price of the children's shirt reaches 114.99 pounds.
The newspaper explained: "The 'stadium' shirt, designed for wearing while watching matches from the stands, has seen its price for adults rise to 89.99 pounds and for children to 69.99 pounds, while those choosing to print a name and number on the shirt will bear an additional cost of up to 60 pounds."
It added: "The new shirts mimic the design of the shirts the players will wear during the World Cup, while maintaining the official character of the England team, where the controversial details from the 2024 version were removed and replaced with the phrase 'happy and glorious' inside the collar as a tribute to the national anthem."
It continued: "The new kit, which is manufactured by Nike as part of a deal valued at about 400 million pounds with the English Football Association, features an entirely modern design in white for official use, while the red shirt returns as the alternate kit after being purple since 2024."
It further stated: "The new shirts were promoted through a special video featuring team captain Harry Kane and several of the team's prominent players, to be presented to the public for the first time next Friday before the friendly match against Uruguay, followed by the match against Japan."
