UAE bans raising prices of 9 basic goods without prior official approval

Khaberni - The UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism has confirmed that it is intensifying its regulatory efforts at sales outlets in the state markets, with the aim of ensuring the stability of commodity and product prices and their availability in sufficient quantities to meet the needs of consumers, emphasizing that it does not tolerate any violations in the markets.

It has been confirmed that raising the prices of 9 essential basic commodities without obtaining prior official approval is prohibited, according to the approved laws and regulations. These commodities include cooking oil, eggs, dairy, rice, sugar, poultry, legumes, bread, and wheat.

The ministry calls on the public to cooperate and report any unjustified price increases or violations by calling 8001222, contributing to enhanced monitoring and ensuring compliance of sales outlets with the set prices.
