Basem Samra reveals reasons for his desire to step away from art
During his television appearance with Amr El-Leithy, Samra explained that the current difficulties in the art field are the main motivation behind his thinking of stepping away from acting, describing the work environment as “harsh and difficult,” and expressing his condemnation of the hypocritical handling methods in some artistic circles.
Samra added that the nature of fame has started to impose restrictions on his freedom to travel and experience his life naturally, which has led him to think about a simpler and more diverse lifestyle away from the continuous pressures of artistic work.
His relationships in the artistic community
The artist pointed out that he strives to be close to colleagues who embody honesty and generosity, away from pretension, expressing his admiration for several artists like Mahmoud Hemida, Ahmed Azmi, Tarek Lotfy, Ahmed Wafik, and Hamza El Eily, without revealing other names.
Samra's statements sparked wide interaction on social media, where opinions were divided between those who praised his frankness and courage, and others who considered his talk a fleeting statement, doubting the possibility of his actual retirement given his artistic status and remarkable performance in drama works.
It is worth mentioning that Basem Samra participated in the last Ramadan drama season in the series "Magical Eye" alongside Essam Omar, directed by Al-Sadeer Masoud.
