Khaberni - Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, said in a post on (X) on Sunday that the vital infrastructure and energy facilities in the Middle East might be subjected to "irreversible destruction" should the Iranian power stations be targeted.
Ghalibaf added that the regional infrastructure would become "legitimate targets" if Iranian facilities are targeted and that Iran's response would drive up oil prices for some time.
This statement followed a threat by U.S. President Donald Trump to target Iranian energy stations unless the Strait of Hormuz is "fully opened" within 48 hours.
