Khaberni - The Meteorological Department confirmed that the coordination with the concerned authorities for observing the Shawwal crescent began several days ago, within a proactive approach aimed at ensuring the best possible conditions for the sighting operations.
The Director of the Meteorological Department, Raed Rafed Al-Khatab, and a member of the Crescent Committee in the General Iftaa Department, clarified that the department began early communication and coordination with the astronomical teams affiliated with the Jordanian Astronomical Society, where they were provided with continuous updates about the expected weather conditions, and choosing the most suitable locations for observation based on precise scientific criteria.
He pointed out that this early coordination reflects the institutional integration among different entities, and contributes to enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of the crescent sighting operations, especially under the precise astronomical conditions of this year.
He confirmed that the Meteorological Department will continue to provide technical support and information until the moment of the sighting, to ensure the best possible environment for the observation teams in various regions of the kingdom.
