Argentina National Team includes Prestiani and excludes Real Madrid star

Khaberni - The Argentina national team, holder of the World Cup title, announced a list that includes 28 players for the current March camp, which saw the presence of Gianluca Prestiani, a Benfica player, while Franco Mastantono, a Real Madrid star, is among the most notable exclusions from the list.

After the cancellation of the Finalissima match against Spain, the Argentina national team will play a single friendly game against Guatemala on March 31 as part of their preparations for the 2026 World Cup.

Before facing Guatemala, the Argentine Football Association announced a list of 28 players on Wednesday, led by the team's star and captain Lionel Messi.

Gianluca Prestiani is among the most notable additions to the list, getting another chance after his first participation against Angola in November 2025.

Recently, rising Benfica star Prestiani made headlines after a verbal altercation with Real Madrid's Vinicius Junior in a Champions League match between their teams.

The Benfica player has only played four minutes at the international level and will be joined by Nico Paz, who is shining with Italian team Como under the management of Spanish coach Cesc Fabregas.

Lionel Scaloni, Argentina's coach, has also relied on a number of local players in the list such as Gabriel Rojas from Racing and Tomas Palacios from Estudiantes.
