Salahs uprising leads Liverpool to crush Galatasaray

Khaberni  - Liverpool shone in their den, crushing Turkish Galatasaray (4-0), on Wednesday, in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League last sixteen, at Anfield, to make up for their first-leg loss (1-0).

Strong Start

The Reds started the match strongly, completely dominating the play and exerting intense pressure in the guests' areas.

Liverpool capped their successive attacks with a wonderful goal by the Hungarian star, Dominik Szoboszlai, in the 25th minute, when he received a ground pass from a corner - apparently prearranged - from his Argentine teammate, Alexis Mac Allister, shooting directly into the net.

Missed Penalty

The hosts squandered numerous attacks in the first half, notably by Mohamed Salah and Florian Wirtz. Moreover, the Egyptian star missed a penalty in the 45+4th minute.

But in the second half, the Reds showed their teeth, with French international Hugo Ekitike scoring the second goal in the 51st minute, from a decisive pass by Salah.

Within two minutes, Salah caused the third goal for Liverpool, when he fired a powerful shot that Galatasaray goalkeeper, Okan Shakir, parried, only for Ryan Gravenberch to follow it up into the net.

Salah's Role

In the 62nd minute, it was the turn of the Egyptian Pharaoh to score, with a stunning shot into the far corner of the guests' goalkeeper.

However, in the 74th minute, Salah asked to be substituted due to an injury, with Dutch star Cody Gakpo coming on in his place.

Liverpool continued to pressure Galatasaray, for the remainder of the match, while the Turkish team was completely absent, posing no significant threat to Liverpool's goal until the end of the match with a home victory (4-0).

With this victory, the English team advanced to face French Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-finals, after the latter had swept Chelsea away in the first leg (5-2) and return leg (3-0).
