Jordan condemns Israeli assaults on Lebanon and describes them as a blatant violation of international law

Khaberni - Jordan condemned, on Tuesday, the ongoing Israeli assaults on Lebanon, and the Israeli ground incursion in southern Lebanon; a blatant violation of Lebanon's sovereignty, international law, and international humanitarian law, as well as a serious escalation threatening the security and stability of the region.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs emphasized the need to immediately stop the Israeli assaults on Lebanon, the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from its territories, and the full compliance with the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701 in all its clauses, to enable Lebanese state institutions to perform their duties.

The Ministry underscored Jordan’s absolute stance with Lebanon for its security, stability, sovereignty, and the safety of its citizens, and support for the Lebanese government's efforts in imposing its control over all Lebanese territories and reactivating its national institutions and monopolizing weapons in the hands of the state.

The Ministry demanded the international community to take its responsibilities and compel Israel to respect international law and international humanitarian law and stop all its assaults on Lebanon; to prevent the expansion of the conflict and the deterioration of security and humanitarian conditions.
