UAE Temporary and partial closure of airspace as an exceptional precautionary measure

Khaberni -   The General Civil Aviation Authority in the UAE has announced a temporary and partial closure of the country's airspace, as an exceptional precautionary measure aimed at ensuring the safety of flights, crews, and protection of the state's territory.
The General Civil Aviation Authority clarified that this measure comes amidst accelerating and escalating security developments in the region, confirming that the decision was made based on a comprehensive and precise risk assessment, and in full coordination with relevant local and international entities.
The Authority emphasized that the safety of the airspace and the aerial sovereignty of the UAE is a top priority, pointing out that it will continue to inform concerned entities and the public about any developments as they occur.

The Authority also renewed its call for travelers to contact airlines to keep up-to-date on flight schedules, assuring that necessary accommodations and provisions will be provided for travelers by the airlines and local entities.

The Authority indicated that the safety of travelers and aircraft crews remains at the top of its priorities, reaffirming its commitment to taking all necessary measures to ensure the highest safety standards, appreciating everyone's cooperation and understanding under these exceptional circumstances, and urged the public to get information only from official and accredited sources.

The competent authorities in Dubai confirmed that the sounds heard in different areas of the city a while ago were due to successful interceptions of Iranian missiles by air defense systems.

The Abu Dhabi Media Office had earlier announced on Monday evening that the concerned authorities in Abu Dhabi responded to a fire that broke out at the Shah gas field station following a drone attack. The specialized teams were able to contain and control the fire without recording any injuries.

The operations were suspended until the situation assessment is completed, while the competent authorities called on the public to obtain information only from official sources, and to avoid spreading rumors or unverified information.

For its part, Iran says its attacks come in response to assaults by the "American-Israeli" coalition against it, emphasizing that its operations in the Gulf region are limited to "self-defense" and do not target countries that house American facilities, although several Gulf states have condemned what they described as "Iranian assaults" on their sovereignty, affirming "their right to respond".
