Macron to Bezishkian Targeting France is Unacceptable

Khaberni - French President Emmanuel Macron told his Iranian counterpart Masoud Bezishkian that the "targeting" of France amid the regional escalation resulting from the war in Iran is "unacceptable", and he demanded the return of two detained French nationals in Iran "as soon as possible".

Macron wrote on the X platform after a French soldier was killed in Iraq, "I reminded him that France intervenes in a purely defensive context to protect its interests and those of its regional partners and for the benefit of freedom of navigation, and that it is unacceptable to target our country".

He added, "I also requested the Iranian president to allow Cecile Kohler and Jacques Paris to return safely to France as soon as possible. Their ordeal has lasted too long, and their place is with their families".
