Khaberni - The UAE announced at dawn on Sunday that it was dealing with missile and aerial threats concurrently with drone and missile attacks targeting several Gulf states as the escalation resulting from the US-Israeli war on Iran entered its 16th day.
The UAE Ministry of Interior said that air defenses are countering "missile attacks and drones coming from Iran".
The ministry added that the sounds heard in various parts of the country resulted from interception operations carried out by air defense systems against ballistic missiles and drones.
In Bahrain, the Ministry of Interior announced the activation of sirens, urging citizens and residents to head to the nearest safe place.
Drone Attacks
In this regard, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait also faced drone attacks at dawn on Sunday, according to successive statements received on the X platform.
The Saudi Ministry of Defense announced the interception of 10 drones and their destruction in Riyadh and Eastern Province.
Earlier, Saudi Arabia also announced the interception of missiles and drones aimed at its territory, with the Ministry of Defense stating that it destroyed two drones in the Eastern Province, while its spokesperson announced the interception and destruction of 6 ballistic missiles launched towards Al Kharj Province on Saturday evening.
On the other hand, the Kuwait National Guard announced early this Sunday morning that it had shot down 5 drones at locations under its security responsibility.
Earlier, the Kuwaiti Directorate General of Civil Aviation reported that Kuwait International Airport was targeted by drones that struck the radar system, confirming that the attack caused no injuries.
In the meantime, the Dubai Government Media Office reported that the sounds heard in the Marina and Al Sufouh areas were the result of successful interception operations carried out by air defense systems.
The Abu Dhabi Media Office also announced tonight that a fire was controlled which broke out due to a drone targeting an oil facility in the Al Ruwais area last Tuesday.
The Iranian Side
On the other hand, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated on Saturday evening that it had targeted locations in the Gulf states with missiles.
The Revolutionary Guard announced that it targeted what it referred to as "American forces at a base in Al Kharj Province in Saudi Arabia," adding that it was used to outfit "F-35 and F-16 fighters" and contained areas for storing refueling aircraft.
