Amman Arab University signs a memorandum of understanding with the Jordanian SOS Childrens Villages Association to enhance educ

Stemming from Amman Arab University’s commitment to enhancing its role in social responsibility and building effective partnerships with national institutions, the university has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Jordanian SOS Children’s Villages Association with the aim of implementing educational and pedagogical programs that contribute to improving the academic level of village children and developing their cognitive and personal skills, thereby enhancing their opportunities to continue education and build a better future. The memorandum was signed on behalf of the university by its president, Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Widian, and on behalf of the association by the national director, Mrs. Rana Al-Za’bi, in the presence of Mr. Bassam Al-Bashaiera, advisor to community responsibility, Mr. Wadeh Musmar, the director of the Media and Public Relations Department at the university, and Mrs. Hadeel Al-Faqih, the director of the programs of the children’s village / Amman.

The memorandum aims to enhance cooperation between the two parties in implementing educational and training programs that support the educational process for SOS village children, by providing integrated educational programs in several basic subjects such as Arabic, English, mathematics, and computer science, alongside implementing supportive educational activities that contribute to the development of life skills and enhancing academic achievement among students. The collaboration also includes academic supervision from the specialized colleges at Amman Arab University, which involves diagnosing students' educational levels, identifying their academic needs, and preparing appropriate educational programs for them, in addition to involving university students in implementing a number of voluntary and educational activities that support the educational process inside the villages, and training and qualifying educational and supervisory staff working in SOS villages through specialized training programs, which contribute to ensuring the program’s sustainability and the continuation of its educational effect, along with monitoring and evaluating its outputs and measuring its impact on the children’s academic and educational level.

In this regard, Dr. Al-Widian pointed out that this memorandum comes within the framework of Amman Arab University's commitment to enhancing its role in serving the community and supporting educational initiatives that contribute to empowering children and youth, emphasizing that the university strives through its academic expertise and specialized staff to contribute to the development of educational and pedagogical programs that help children develop their abilities and build their academic and professional future. He added that the university believes in the importance of partnerships with national institutions and civil society institutions, as they play a role in achieving sustainable community development and creating quality educational opportunities that contribute to preparing a generation capable of creativity and active participation in building the community.

In turn, Ms. Al-Za’bi clarified that this partnership with Amman Arab University represents an important step in supporting the educational and pedagogical programs implemented by the Jordanian SOS Children's Villages Association, confirming that cooperation with academic institutions contributes to developing the children’s capabilities and enhancing their educational opportunities, noting that Amman Arab University enjoys an outstanding academic reputation and scientific expertise and educated teaching staff capable of contributing to the development of educational programs provided to children, in addition to that the educational and training programs to be implemented in cooperation with the university will contribute to raising the academic level of the children and developing their cognitive and personal skills, which supports their educational journey and enhances their opportunities to build a better future.
