Khaberni - In a unique and unprecedented academic achievement at both the local and Arab levels, Amman Arab University has received approval from the American Board of Trustees of the International Accreditation Organization for Aviation Programs (AABI) to qualify the Avionics Science Program (Avionics B2) for international accreditation. This follows discussions and presentations at the council meeting held last month in Jacksonville, Florida, and includes the Bachelor of Avionics program (Avionics B2) introduced by Amman Arab University in the 2022/2023 academic year, making it the first and only program of its kind in the Arab world within this specialized and vital field linked to modern aviation industry.
In this regard, Professor Malik Al-Salem Al-Anaqreh, Dean of the Faculty of Aviation Sciences at Amman Arab University, stated that since its inception, the faculty has obtained accreditation from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Part-147 as a training and examination center, reflecting the program’s readiness and adherence to the highest international technical and academic standards in aircraft maintenance and electronics. This achievement adds to the faculty's journey of excellence, as the Bachelor of Aircraft Maintenance program had previously achieved international (AABI) accreditation through the year 2030, further enhancing Amman Arab University's position as a leading academic institution in aviation education regionally and internationally.
This approval embodies the international organization's confidence in the academic level of the programs offered by Amman Arab University, and in its ability to meet the requirements of international accreditation according to the highest quality standards. This step also reflects the university's ongoing commitment to developing its academic programs and keeping up with the latest global developments in the fields of education and training. With this achievement, Amman Arab University becomes the first Jordanian and Arab university to attain international AABI accreditation in the field of aviation electronics in the region and the Arab world, and the second university globally to achieve this milestone after a specialized Chinese university.
