Khaberni - A building in Dubai's financial district was struck by shrapel resulting from an intercepted attack today, Friday.
The Dubai Government Media Office confirmed that the facade of a building in "Downtown Dubai" was damaged due to debris from a successful interception operation.
An eyewitness living nearby who asked not to be named said: "I jumped out of bed, it was the loudest sound I have ever heard in my life".
He added: "The boom was very loud, and I was sure that when I looked out the window, I would see something catastrophic... the ground shook".
A drone fell near the financial district in Dubai on Thursday after Iran threatened to strike economic centers linked to the United States and Israel.
Since the start of the war, the UAE has announced that its air defenses intercepted more than 1500 drones and about 300 missiles launched by Iran, a number far exceeding that of any other country targeted by Iranian attacks over the last two weeks.
The UAE has been subjected to repeated Iranian bombardment during the current war, with targets including Dubai Airport, one of the world’s largest airports, its port, and other locations.
The Gulf states have borne the brunt of Iran's attacks since the onset of the war in the Middle East. These attacks have resulted in the deaths of 24 people in the region, including seven American soldiers and 11 civilians.
It is noted that the United States and Israel began launching airstrikes on targets in Iranian territory on February 28, including Tehran, and Iran has been launching retaliatory strikes on Israeli territory, as well as on US military facilities in the Middle East. The Russian Foreign Ministry condemned the American-Israeli attack and called for an urgent de-escalation and cessation of hostilities.
