Saudi Arabia Implements Capital Punishment on Iraqis

Khaberni  - The Saudi Ministry of Interior, on Wednesday, reported the execution (execution by lethal means) on Iraqis in the Northern Border area, along with the clarification of their identities and the charges they were convicted of.

It explained in its statement: "Kalab Abdul Hussein Farhan Al-Ziyadi and Hussein Adnan Atshan - both of Iraqi nationality - were involved in smuggling amphetamine pills into the kingdom. The security forces managed to arrest the aforementioned perpetrators and the investigation led to their being charged with committing the crime. Upon referral to the competent court, a verdict was issued confirming the accusations against them and sentencing them to death by execution, and the verdict became final after an appeal followed by endorsement from the Supreme Court, and a royal decree was issued to enforce what was decided by Sharia law."

The ministry stated that the execution took place: "On Tuesday, 11 / 11 / 1447 AH corresponding to 28 / 4 / 2026 CE in the Northern Border area."

In concluding the statement, it affirmed: "The Ministry of Interior announces this to reaffirm the commitment of the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to protecting the security of both citizens and residents from the scourge of drugs, and to impose the harshest punishments prescribed by law against smugglers and promoters of these, due to the loss of innocent lives, and severe corruption it causes to youth and society, violating their rights. The ministry also warns anyone contemplating such actions that the legal punishment will be their fate... and God guides to the right path."
