Bayern Suffers Three Harsh Blows After Their Sweeping Victory Over Atalanta

Khaberni - Bayern Munich, leading the German football league, will miss the services of Jamal Musiala, Canadian Alphonso Davies, and goalkeeper Jonas Urbig due to new injuries sustained during the overwhelming 6-1 victory over Italian Atalanta in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League round of 16 on Tuesday.

The Bavarian club confirmed in a statement on Wednesday that the three players were injured, noting that they "will be away from the playing fields for the current time" without specifying their return dates.

Musiala and Urbig were injured in added time of the match, while Davies, who came on as a substitute at halftime, left the field crying, 20 minutes before the end.

Musiala, who missed the first six months of the season due to an ankle fracture, has suffered a new injury in the same area.

Meanwhile, the captain of the Canadian national team, Davies, who likewise missed the beginning of the season recovering from a cruciate ligament injury, has suffered a torn hamstring muscle. Goalkeeper Urbig is suffering from a concussion.

The comfortable victory puts Bayern in a favorable position ahead of next week's second leg match.

The reigning champions lead the German league standings by 11 points with nine stages remaining in the season and have reached the semifinal of the German Cup, where they face Bayer Leverkusen.
