Commander of the United Nations Mission MONUSCO Visits Jordanian Helicopter Unit  Congo 2

Khaberni - The commander of the United Nations forces for the stabilization of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) Major General Ulysses de Mesquita Gomes visited the Jordanian/Congolese helicopter unit (2) today, Wednesday.

Brigadier Gomes listened to a briefing presented by the force commander, which reviewed the nature of the operational tasks and duties entrusted to the unit within its area of responsibility, and the role it plays in executing air support missions and supporting the operations of the United Nations mission, contributing to enhancing security and stability in the operational areas.

The guest toured the operational camp facilities, examined a number of public facilities and the medical clinic, and listened to explanations about the level of technical and logistical readiness, and the procedures followed in providing medical services and healthcare to the troops.

The mission commander emphasized the important role played by the United Nations forces in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, particularly in supporting humanitarian efforts and protecting the delivery of aid to its rightful recipients in the operational areas, lauding the effective role of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and its continuous and distinguished participation in international peacekeeping forces, and its provision of professional military competencies that contribute to reinforcing security and stability in various regions of the world.
