Khaberni - The Secretary-General of the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization, Hussein Al-Shibli, confirmed on Wednesday that Jordan always stands by the brothers affected by wars or immediate humanitarian conditions.
Al-Shibli said that the organization maintains a strategic reserve that allows for immediate response to any urgent needs, and that the current convoy was mobilized directly following the royal directives, while humanitarian work also continues with the people of Gaza Strip, according to the kingdom.
Under the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization, in cooperation with the Jordanian Armed Forces - the Arab Army, dispatched a humanitarian aid convoy to Lebanon.
He explained that the convoy consists of 25 trucks loaded with food, relief, and medical supplies, including tents and equipment such as clothes, mattresses, and blankets suitable for the current displacement situation, in addition to food parcels and medicines that meet the emergency needs.
Al-Shibli noted that the convoy set off at dawn today across the Syrian border towards Lebanon, expecting its arrival by noon today, with full coordination with the official Lebanese authorities to ensure the direct distribution of aid to the beneficiaries, and to establish a safe situation for setting up tents and distributing food to the displaced people.
He pointed out that the organization's efforts in the Gaza Strip continue on a daily basis during Ramadan, by providing Iftar for more than 1000 families daily, along with distributing food parcels, clothing, and clean water as needed, with additional equipment suitable for the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, in line with the needs of the sector.
Al-Shibli confirmed that the organization monitors the situation in Lebanon closely, and that in case of continuing difficult conditions and rising needs, new convoys will be prepared to support the brothers there, emphasizing the continuous humanitarian work with the Gaza Strip despite attempts to obstruct the delivery of aid, through local programs and partnerships that meet the needs of the population in the current circumstances.
