Khaberni - The Iranian Leadership Expert Assembly officially announced today, Monday, the appointment of Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei (56 years old) as the leader of the Islamic Revolution and the Supreme Leader of the Republic, succeeding his late father Ali Khamenei in managing the country's affairs.
This announcement came after a series of intensive and closed meetings held by the 88-member assembly, constitutionally charged with choosing the leader. Iranian sources confirmed that Mojtaba Khamenei was chosen due to his close connections with the security and military institutions, notably the Revolutionary Guard (IRGC), which was considered essential to ensure the regime's stability under the current military and political circumstances.
